mareimbrium: Lighthouse at sunset. Part 1 of 4. Oil on canvas. Our final project in Painting II was a series of paintings with our choice of theme, size, and quantity. I settled on four imagined landscapes, each with ruins slowly crumbling and being swallowed up by nature. I also set each at a different time of day. Photographic reference was used solely for figuring out some of the colors; form and lighting were completely invented.
